Molly Nova
5-String Electric Violin, Bass Guitar, Lead Vocals

Molly grew up in the midwest, and started playing the violin in the fourth grade. By the time she was in high school Molly was playing the piano and guitar in addition to the violin. After high school Molly started to improvise and experiment with different musical styles. Molly's free form style of bass and violin playing has left her audiences awe struck. She wowed the 1997 and 1998 Ultimate Rhythm and Blues Cruise crowds sitting in with Taj Mahal, Maria Muldaur, and Chubby Carner. Molly has also played on a CD with the Rev. Billy C. Wirtz, and jammed with Ann Rabson and Slim Jim Phantom. As one of the original members of the Blue Band, Molly toured from Colorado to Minneapolis to Kansas City, but has now stepped into her own spotlight, and co-founded a talented band to back her unique sound. Her recent experince as a songwriter, her time in the studio, her 25 years on the road - and now with her own band behind her- it all adds up to one helluva show!

"Molly Nova - chops galore - she ain't guessin'" -Cub Coda, Goldmine

"Molly Nova is like a whirling dervish up there, always in constant motion whether she is thumping out bass lines or dazzling the crowd with her over-the-top electric violin playing. I would have to say seeing Molly pull out her 5-String Electric Violin and proceed to blow everyone away with her intensity was most memorable"- Ray Stiles/Blues On Stage

"Molly's violin work segues from Texas swing to near Hendrixian wails... their final number was the original "The Last Goodbye", a heartbreaking instrumental tribute to Johnny Copeland that left both Kansas City Blues Prez LaDonna Jones and me with head-to-toe goose bumps" -Kansas City Blues Society News

"Molly Nova sends sparks on her gritty funk piece, with searing electric violin." -Candence Jazz & Music Review
